WHAT IS SOFT RIOT?
Painting my self care series started out as a remedy for my mental health which began affecting my physical health. I found that I was stuck in a cycle of conforming. It started with straightening my curls, trying to loose weight, dressing the same as others. When i finally realized that it didn’t make me happy or feel like myself, I began painting that. I found that it was my form of softly rebelling- beginning with loving my curly hair, which transformed my painting into speaking on self care. It transformed into romanticizing the small intimate moments I have with myself.
WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?
The Soft Riot Mail Club releases monthly 4×6 art prints meant to romanticize the everyday, the mundane, and the ugly. Each painting is paired with a song that I listened to during the painting as well as a note explaining the works meaning and a sticker.
